I planted a 'Pimenta Bela Purple' hot pepper, which I picked up at Soergel's Garden Center. It's rated at one million Scovilles, which is hot. I also gave a plant to my friend Dave Taiclet (Hot Pepper Dave). His did not do as well as mine as the deer were after it. So I brought over a bag of the pepper and he had to try one.

While traveling through Arizona from the Grand Canyon to Zion National Park we stopped at the Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center in Jacob Lake, Arizona.
There was a wonderful surprise for us there, as hummingbirds were having a feeding frenzy at two feeders outside of the center.
These were identified for me as Broad-tailed and Rufous hummingbirds.
I haven't see so many hummingbirds since Costa Rica.
