My guest on Sunday December 21, 2025 was Gabe Tilove from Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens who was discussing the upcoming Native Plant and Sustainability Conference on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at the conservatory.

The day long conference features speakers covering a wide range of topics focusing on environmental stewardship, garden design and more. It's also a chance to meet like minded gardeners.

My friend Jordyn Melino was on the radio show filling us in on the Winter Flower Show at Phipps Conservatory and Botanic Gardens. The show is beautiful, and also filled with whimsy. This is a holiday tradition that shouldn’t be missed.

Tomatofest was founded by the late Gary Ibsen and his wife Dagma Lacey, who is continuing the work of preserving wonderful heirloom tomatoes.
Even though I have hundreds of varieties of tomato seeds, every year I search the sale to find a couple of new things to grow.

We’ll visit Warsaw, Malbork Castle, Kraków, Jasna Góra Monastery, Black Madonna, Saxon Garden and the Botanical Garden at the University of Warsaw, Poland’s countryside, the Botanical Garden of Jagiellonian University with the largest orchid collection in Poland and 23 acres of beautiful plantings, Auschwitz and much more.

It was great to talk with Keith Kaiser, executive director for the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden on the radio show. This is the fourth year for Dazzling Nights, an amazing, interactive show that visitors walk through.
It’s something everyone should see, every season it blows me away.
