Paw paw tasting party Sunday 9/21/25 5pm at Shenanigans and it’s free!

Would you like to find out what a native paw paw tastes like? Join me Sunday at 5 p.m. to find out.

For the second consecutive year I stopped by Julie A. Harrilla's home, harvesting hundreds of paw paws to giveaway this Sunday, 5 p.m. at SHENANIGANS BAR AND GRILLE PITTSBURGH.

Julie visited me last year at an event and brought the best tasting paw paws anyone had ever tasted. We were all blown away.

There's something about her trees that makes these spectacular.

I'm saving seeds for Tree Pittsburgh: Lawrenceville Tree Tenders as a way to hopefully perpetuate the variety.

We're going to have fun tasting and talking gardening along with enjoying Shenanigans signature paw paw cocktails.

Please message or email if you're coming, dougoster@comcast.net.

Paw paws are a native fruit which grows throughout Appalachia and beyond. Enjoyed by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson along with Lewis and Clark.
