It’s a chance to see three spectacular gardens for only $10 a piece.
I visited Choderwood on many occasions, it’s a wonderful, eclectic garden on the Allegheny River. This video will give you an idea how cool this garden is.
Jody Choder was my guest on The Organic Gardener Radio show on 6/07/26 talking about Choderwood and Open Garden Day.
Wilpen Hall is an amazing landscape. The estate was built between 1897 and 1900 and has a stunning historic plantings. It’s another garden I’ve seen and it’s spectacular.
I’ve never seen the third garden, but I know the owner and have learned much from her. Here’s what she had to say about her garden, “Twenty-five years ago, I fell in love with a house tucked into the middle of an acre of Southwestern Pennsylvania woodland, a gardener’s blank slate of woods and lawns. When a butterfly landed on my flowered shirt looking for food as I was digging the first garden bed, I promised it a home where it could thrive.

Here’s all the information about Open Garden Day.

Have fun and go explore these unique gardens.
